System Preferences Mac Download 10.6 8
In deleting 40GB of stuff that I longer needed for my Mac, I deleted System Preferences...
1. I tried StellarPhoenix (deleted files recovery program) to no avail.
2. I updated my MacBook to the lastest OS (x.vi.8) & the trouble wasn't resolved.
three. I tried using Bluetooth & and so a USB to place the System Preferences on 1 my Macs to the one that it is missing on... This didn't work, because the Mac that has System Preferences is on Leopard, and the one that it is missing on is on Snow Leopard... The Leopard system preferences doesn't function on the newer OS I guess.
4. Some people recommend using the installation DVD to recover it somehow but that'southward been long lost.
When I update to Lion, will it be recovered somehow? Is that my only choice?
PS I'm pretty stupid when it comes to computers and so I apologize upfront if anything I've written higher up does non make sense.

Howdy Everyone,
I accept also deleted the 'System Preferences' Application and I take finally constitute a fix. This ready is very simple simply it works. Hither are the steps to re-installing it. If you have a 2nd mac with the aforementioned operating arrangement then great, if not just go to the nearest Apple Store.
1.) Open a new Finder window.
ii.) On the left hand side of the window there is a tab labeled 'FAVORITES' under this tab there is the Awarding 'AirDrop'.
three.) Open this app.
four.) On the 2d Mac repeat steps 1-iii.
five.) [second Mac] Go to the applications and drag the 'Organization Preferences' over to the 'AirDrop' window, hover it over the get-go Mac and drop. Y'all should get a message request if you would like to send this over to "XYZ's Computer" hit have.

Your solution doesn't work unless you take access to another Mac with the same OS, and Snowfall Leopard is no longer available for auction in whatsoever Apple store. Annotation that this thread is a year old, and the OP had Snow Leopard installed, which doesn't include AirDrop and not all Macs that can run Lion will back up AirDrop. Also, AirDrop is non required to transfer files between Macs. Dropbox, email, network file sharing and many other solutions will piece of work, besides.

Distressing didn't realize that I was but excited when I establish a solution for my issue.
I know this is quite old at present but could yous please mail the system preference awarding for 10.6.8 again?? Really need information technology at present since I accidentally deleted mine and I practice not have another mac....

I have the aforementioned problem but with leopard unfortunately snow leopard version wont fix it tin someone please postal service the version my cd bulldoze is broken want to fix information technology for my daughter
1. How are you all "accidentally" deleting Arrangement Preferences?
ii. Why do yous take no backup?
three. Y'all demand to accept an installer disk (or recovery partition) so you can reinstall your Os; run Disk Utility on your main internal volume; perform other emergency troubleshooting. If you lot don't have access to a working disk or drive, and then THAT is your major problem, not a lack of one app. (Every bit well as no backup.)
iv. Don't accept system files from strange men on the internet. You don't know where they've been. (The files, not the men.)
Yesterday, when I was deleting files on my Mac reckoner, I plant out I deleted most of the organization preferences. Anyhow, let me know if whatsoever of you folks take the missing system preferences for the Mac OS X 10.vi.8 estimator so y'all can ship them to me on a Zippo file. They await like this, for example.

Need help, I'thou started to believe my daughter may have deleted the arrangement preferences on her profile. Tried just creating a new profile for her and withal have no admission. I do have access to it on my primary admin business relationship but can't on any other contour. It shows as available in the top file bar but when clicked does cipher? Running 10.ii.viii and no I don't accept the install disk Whatever help is profoundly appreciated , thank you!

Hey guys I gatta say thaaanksssss, you saved my arrss. Now what about deleted Utilities (all of them) x.half dozen.8 can become to disk utilities to do annihilation stytem is working fine otherwise other than my keyboard cant spell.

I was given an one-time MacBook Pro ... my FIRST feel with Macs!
No installation disk or such though
This car is in FRENCH and I'm trying to switch it to English language: Unfortunately, the System Preference for x.half dozen.8 installation says it is 'broken' or 'damaged'. Which means I can't become modify the language!
I tried to download the available copies shared in a higher place, but all of them gave me an error in DropBox (fault 403)... Could someone re-share this application please?
